These String Lilies or more commonly known as Swamp Lilies is from the Amaryllis Family with the latin name Crinum americanum: translated to mean Lilli of American. The leaves and bulbs are poisonous to humans but are a favorite food for the colorfull Lubber Grasshopper. These blooms can be found in swamps and wetlands from Texas to Georgia and down throughout Florida.
