Floridas Sherman Fox squirrels are considerabley larger than the more common grey squirrel. They get thier name from the yellowish fur and extremely long an bushy tail. The Florida Fox Squirrel is a species of special concern but can be found in the Longleaf Pine Forests. Barbara, I've enjoy so many of your photos. This is really something. I have never seen or heard of a Fox Squirrel.. Great image! You should have a lot of BIG animals there in Florida! Thank you for your appreciation and kind words Kym. Actually our plants and insects are large and our animals (bears, deer etc) tend to be smaller due to the hot climate.
