Description
While searching the mangrove for warblers, I spotted this medium sized crab hiding four feet off the ground hiding in the mangrove. At high tide, they tend to climb high and work their way back down as the water recedes. They mainly feed on old leaves but also eat crab guts have included animal matter such as nematodes, crustacean appendages, fish scales, foraminiferans and polychaetes.

Nice image and information! This shot really accentuates those bizarre eyes they have.
Barbara Bowen replied:
Thank you. His claws are bizarre too! Just beautiful but strange looking creature that I was fortunate to encounter.
